Volumptuous sideboard by Edward Johnson
British designer / carpenter Edward Johnson has created a credenza Volumptuous. This buffet will be on display as part of the exhibition Furniture 21st Century III (March 22-May 1) at the Millinery Works gallery in London. ‘Volumptuous‘ is truly unique sideboard, a work of art, a piece that tested me as a maker and makes me feel uncomfortable as a designer. Using the latest technology of materials, ‘Volumptuous’ are handmade in Oak and internally coated with aromatic Cedar of Lebanon. The framework was square-shaped hand to follow any form of laminated panels, and then a little annoyed with ammonia to reach the chocolate brown coloring. Volumptuous is as sensual as furniture gets, visually stimulating, tactile and beautifully seductive fragrance.
