Photoresistor on Change of Light Candles
The artists designed a sensor element that embeds a photoresistor and electro-mechanical relay with a voltage comparison circuit. This allows for a very quick reaction time to changes in light of the candle and fluid interactive experience. The light from the candle is kept variable field derived from the external point. Samples from the candle and the light sensor is connected to a cold-cathode light tubes connected in a back room of the box. Niu Miao and Nicholas Hanna met when they worked at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. This idea developed from previous projects, “Candle Stool”, by Niu Miao exploring an inverse relationship between light bulbs and candles.[Via]
